Zoey Koko Is Spreading Joy This Giving Tuesday
Over here at Zoey Koko, we have a lot to be thankful for this year. Not only have we managed to get into 160 retail locations in the last 11 months, but our CEO, Sara, pitched Zoey Koko live on USA Network’s new show, America’s Big Deal, on Dec 9. Talk about a whirlwind of a year so far!
While there were many challenges on the road to success, our team of 6 women are more focused than ever. We are dedicated to fulfilling our mission of creating a line of all-natural, fun bath and body products that encourage tween girls to express themselves and feel confident in their skin.
For Giving Tuesday this year, we wanted to continue this mission by partnering with two Boston-area charities dedicated to helping young girls,The Big Sister Association of Greater Boston and EmpowerHer.
The Big Sister Association of Greater Boston is near and dear to our CEO, Sara Ferrer. As a former Big Sister, Sara had first-hand experience with the program’s mission to create a mentor-rich community. Every girl has access to the individual nurturing, guidance and support she needs to become a confident, competent and caring adult.
This year, we were excited to drop off our bath and body products boxes so that the “little sisters” in this program would have a self-care product that made them feel great.
“When Zoey Koko was still in its prototype phase in 2018, I hosted a spa party activity with the Big Sister Association so that me and my 'little sister', as well as other participants, could test out the Zoey Koko products and give feedback. That day was full of so much laughter, joy and fun as we did face masks, painted each other's nails and applied metallic tattoos. It was the beginning of Zoey Koko’s mission to help girls everywhere 'feel smiley in their skin'. It was also the moment my mission became clear."

We also donated an assortment of shower gels and glitter body mists to EmpowerHer, an organization committed to supporting girls who have lost their mothers. This is the second year that we have partnered with this cause after hearing how elated the girls were upon receiving their Zoey Koko products last year. We want these girls to be reminded that they are loved by the community of people that surrounds them and that they are not alone in their grief. To achieve even one smile is enough to make it all worth it.
As we think about our Giving Tuesday experience this year, we can’t help but sum it all up with a quote from Winston Churchill – “We make a living by what we get. We make a life by what we give.” Make your life worthwhile.
